Paton et
al. (1996) show that both var. macrostachya and var.
spiniflora (Schiffn.) Müll.Frib. are
widespread in
Britain,
although only the first of these has as yet been recorded in
Cornwall. Older records that
have not been revised subsequently are listed under the
species name only.
