Range & Status

Widespread over much of Britain, but generally local.

Regional Distribution

Only known in Cornwall from Ethy Woods (1989) and Lanhydrock Park (2008).

Habitat & Ecology

Breeds in the bracket fungus Pleurotus ostreatus growing on Beech Fagus sylvatica , Holly Ilex aquifolium and other broadleaved trees, usually in old pasture-woodlands.

Threats

Loss of the older age classes of broadleaved trees; clearance of deadwood.
