Syncopacma suecicella

Range & Status

Confined in Britain to Cornwall, where it was first recorded in (Heckford, 1986a); this species has a limited distribution in Europe, including Austria, Denmark and Sweden (where it was first identified as a new species in 1958).

Regional Distribution

Apparently restricted in Cornwall to one site on The Lizard, where its foodplant Hairy Greenweed Genista pilosa grows.

Habitat & Ecology

The larvae feed in spinnings on Hairy Greenweed Genista pilosa . The adults fly in June and July.

Threats

Collecting would be a threat as this species is extremely local and rare where it occurs.
