Range & Status

A very localised species of southern and south-eastern Britain, and has become increasingly scarce in recent years.

Regional Distribution

Two old records: Penzance and Pencalenick (1906).

Habitat & Ecology

A wetland species found in fens, marshes and well-vegetated lakesides, generally near the coast.

Threats

The habitat of the species is susceptible to artificial drainage improvements for agriculture or other development.

Conservation

Protection of all remaining undisturbed wetlands.
