Widespread in Britain but very localised.
Regional Distribution
Discovered in Greystone Wood in 1991 (Alexander, 1999).
Habitat & Ecology
Found under sappy bark on freshly dead trunks and boughs of various trees.
Threats
Loss of fresh deadwood through clearance of fallen timber. Conversion of native
broadleaved woodland to plantation forestry.
Conservation
Protection of native woodlands from damaging developments, and retention of fallen
deadwood.
