Habitat & Distribution

Syn. Solea lascaris (Risso). Prefers muddy and sandy substrata in depths of 30-350m. A rare fish in northern European waters, but sometimes locally common in Cornish waters.

Threats

This sole, a small European species, has very little, if any, commercial importance.

However, they are unavoidably caught, and perish in the pursuit of other commercially viable bottom-dwelling fish.
