Throughout England and extending into southern Scotland.
Regional Distribution
Listed in Clark (1906) but then not seen until 2008, when found in Lanhydrock Park.
Habitat & Ecology
Develops in the mycelium of the fungus Laetiporus sulphureus within the decaying heartwood of old Oak Quercus spp. trees, especially open-grown trees in historic parklands.
Threats
Loss of old parkland Oaks.
Conservation
Retention of old trees and their associated deadwood.
