Known from less than 10 sites across England and Wales in recent years.
Regional Distribution
Discovered by Ian McClenaghan in Cabilla and Redrice Woods in 2007.
Habitat & Ecology
Develops in humid red-rotten heartwood of old broadleaved trees, especially opengrown trees. A classic old growth species confined to ancient wood pastures
and historic parklands.
Threats
Loss of old trees, through canopy competition in ungrazed woodland, as well as felling.
Conservation
Cabilla Wood is a CWT Reserve.
