Range & Status
Known from a wide scatter of areas of southern Britain.
Regional Distribution
Discovered by R.S. Key in Chipman Valley in 1989 (Alexander, 1991b). Subsequently found by K.N.A. Alexander at Nanterrow Farm, Gwithian and South Penquite Farm, Blisland in 2005, and Parishpark Wood, Morwenstow in 2006, and clearly widespread in Cornwall.
Habitat & Ecology
Probably mainly associated with the fruiting bodies of the fungus Daedaleopsis confragosa growing on stream-side Sallows Salix spp. Adults have been found over-wintering in reed litter.
Threats
Clearance of streamside vegetation; tree-planting, shading out the shrub layer.
Conservation
Protection of scrubby stream margins from damaging developments.
