Sparingly scattered throughout much of England, especially the south-east.

Discovered in Lanhydrock Park in 2008.

Habitat & Ecology

Develops in the decaying wood of old trees, especially open-grown trees in historic parklands.

Threats

Loss of old parkland trees.

Conservation

Retention of old trees and their associated deadwood.
