Range & Status
Listed by Ball (1986) as pRDB3; though local, it can be abundant in forestry plantations where its foodplant occurs. It is very local in Britain, where it is restricted to Wales and the southern part of England; also found in Ireland). Recorded in northern and central Europe.
Regional Distribution
In Cornwall recorded only from Penlee Point (1993).
Habitat & Ecology
The adult flies in April and May in sunshine at the top of the trees on which the larvae feed, most especially Grand Fir Abies grandis , Silver Fir Abies alba and Norway Spruce Picea abies .

None known.
Conservation
The single record occurred on a Cornwall Wildlife Trust nature reserve.
