Throughout England as far north as Yorkshire.

Regional Distribution

Discovered in Lanhydrock Park in 2008.

Habitat & Ecology

Develops in red-rotten heartwood caused by the fungus Laetiporus sulphureus within old Oak Quercus spp. trees, especially open-grown trees in historic parklands.

Threats

Loss of old parkland Oaks.

Conservation

Retention of old trees and their associated deadwood.
