Formerly recorded only from the south coast northwards to Norfolk and Merioneth; has become increasingly scarce.
Regional Distribution
Old records only, from The Lizard (Keys, 1918) and most recently from Nanjizal in 1932 by R.T. Bannister.
Habitat & Ecology
Recorded for Subterranean Clover Trifolium subterraneum , although possibly also on other Clovers Trifolium spp. Larvae in galls on root-stocks on coastal sand dunes and sea cliff grasslands.
Threats
Loss of semi-natural pastures through intensification of agricultural use or abandonment of grazing.
