Range & Status
Only three known examples have been taken in Britain, from Cornwall pre-1970 and south Devon more recently. It has a boreo-alpine distribution on the Continent, inhabiting the subalpine parts of the higher mountains.
Regional Distribution
A pair were collected by G.H. Ashe in ' Cornwall' (Allen, 1994).
Habitat & Ecology
The Devon record is for a male found beneath bark on deadwood in an old pasture-woodland on the south-west flanks of Dartmoor.
Threats
Agricultural improvements and commercial forestry around moorland fringes, especially where they interrupt the moorland/woodland transition.
Conservation
Protection of remaining moorland of Bodmin Moor and its woodland fringes from
inappropriate developments.
