Andrena rosae

Range & Status

A widespread species in southern England which has undergone a recent, rapid decline. Once widespread and relatively frequent in west and east Cornwall, it is now fairly rare, however, Cornwall is still regarded as one of the strongholds for this species. There are at least 10 post-1980 Cornish sites, mainly coastal, but also inland. Several good, strong populations have very recently been identified on Crousa Downs (Lizard Peninsula), West Penwith and along the coast from Bude to Morwenstow on the north-east coast of Cornwall.
