Restricted to a few sites across S. & E. England, where it has become increasingly scarce.
Regional Distribution
A single old record from Tuckingmill, Camborne in 1943.
Habitat & Ecology
Favours damp areas within dry sandy heaths.
Threats
Agricultural intensification; abandonment of rough grazings, leading to coarsening of the vegetation; development pressure on ' waste' land.
Conservation
Much of the coastal sandy heathland is now protected within SSSI. This species is listed on the UK BAP Priority Species list (2007).
