Range & Status

Widespread in lowland England.

Regional Distribution

Only known from one site in Cornwall, Dunmere Wood, where it was found by C.A. Brind in 1970.

Habitat & Ecology

It breeds in large old oakwoods in the dying and freshly dead branches of Oak Quercus spp., the larvae developing between the bark and the sapwood.

Threats

Conversion of its oakwood habitats to plantation forestry and the clearance of fallen

branches.

Conservation

Protection of ancient oakwoods from damaging developments.
