MEETINGS

 

CISFBR participates in periodic workshops and seminars, and organises a Spring meeting with the AGM and biodiversity discussion meetings in Summer or Autumn. Other activities, including field meetings, can be additionally arranged at the suggestion of members. Past meetings have included habitat based workshops, which were held for marine, freshwater, woodland and sand-dune habitats.


2018 Wildlife Recorders Meeting and CISFBR AGM

SATURDAY 24th February 2018

09.00am to 3.30pm

Ladock Community Hall (Grid Reference SW89275099 or TR2 4PG), mid-Cornwall

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Federation of Biological Recorders (CISFBR) is holding a wildlife recorders meeting where there will be brief updates from various wildlife recording groups, or key wildlife recorders, who are active in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly - followed by the CISFBR AGM.

There will also be a talk on the Cornwall Beaver Project by Cheryl Marriott (Cornwall Wildlife Trust) (see - http://www.cornwallwildlife.org.uk/beaverproject) and Chris Jones of Woodland Valley Farm, where the project is taking place.

There will also be a short presentation on 'Pan-species listing' (see - http://www.brc.ac.uk/psl/home) in preparation for the Pan-species listing recording weekend on 8th to 10th June at Breney Common and Par.

All welcome.

    9 am - tea/coffee/biscuits (setting up displays)

    10 am - Talk on the Cornwall Beaver Project - Cheryl Marriott (Cornwall Wildlife Trust) and Chris Jones of Woodland Valley Farm)

    10.30 am - Wildlife recording groups update (brief presentations from active recording groups/key recorders in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly of 2017 - with news of interesting records or finds)

    12.30 - Lunch - and chance to see displays from wildlife recording groups or recorders

    1.30 pm - Wildlife recording groups update

    2.30 pm - CISFBR AGM

    3.30 pm (or earlier) - CLOSE

There will be tables for displays of your recording group activities or for you to bring books, old journals or things to sell, swap or give away. Bring packed lunch or refreshments to share. There is a small shop in Ladock Village and The Falmouth Arms pub is opposite the hall. Ladock Community Hall is on the B3275 road between Fraddon and Probus (Grid Reference SW89275099 or TR2 4PG) in mid-Cornwall.
