Range & Status
This is the most commonly recorded Tolypella sp. of stonewort in Britain and Ireland, however, in Cornwall it is known from only one site, on Penhale dunes near Perranporth. Here it grows in small amounts in shallow water, amongst other charophytes species, in highly calcareous dune slacks which are winter-flooded and which have a relatively high pH. The site lies within the boundaries of the Ministry of Defence army training camp at Penhale.
