Range & Status

Native. Eurosiberian Boreal-montane plant. A plant of the celtic areas of Britain and not found in England.

Regional Distribution

Only recently (2005) identified as being in Cornwall. In north-east Cornwall at Bude (SS20), and around Upper Tamar Lake (SS21), (growing with the similar Rorippa palustris ), and in two downstream sites beside the River Tamar (SX29). Some populations previously recorded as R. palustris may be R. islandica .

Habitat & Ecology

Around the muddy edge of a reservoir and in muddy puddles of a car park, and in wet field-ruts beside the River Tamar.

Threats

Unknown.

Conservation

Upper Tamar Lake is managed by the South West Lakes Trust, and other sites are not protected.
