Range & Status

A small (to 4cm) finely branched polysiphonous species that occurs very rarely on the lower shore and in the shallow subtidal of sheltered coasts. Confined to south-western coasts. A small (to 4cm) finely branched species growing on hard or friable bedrock, often through sand cover or where exposed to sand scour, from the lower intertidal to 4m depth of water. It is confined to south-western coasts and is known on moderately sheltered to extremely wave-exposed sites in Dorset, north and south Devon and north-eastern Cornwall.
