Range & Status

This species lives in rock crevices, at 20-30m depth, with its long arms extending out into the water. It is apparently rare in the British Isles, where it is known from western Ireland, the Channel Islands and from the Plymouth area, where it is locally frequent on both sides of Plymouth Sound. Elsewhere it occurs from Brittany south to Morocco and the Mediterranean.
