Nothogeophilus turki

Range & Status

Status: Insufficiently known. Small and elusive. Not known outside the UK. Another small pale form, described from the Isles of Scilly and Isle of Wight, which had first been collected by F.A.Turk from St. Mary' s but had remained undescribed. It is up to 13mm long with 37 or 39 leg pairs. The anterior end superficially resembles a Pachymerium whilst the posterior end is more like that of a Geophilus with 3-5 coxal pores on the last legs. This species was added to the BAP Priority list in 2007.
