Range & Status

Native. Eurosiberian Temperate orchid; also in Eastern Asia. Widespread throughout the British Isles and most common to the south and east of the Welsh Marches. Declining rapidly.

Regional Distribution

Only recently seen in Namphillow Wood, near Cowlands Creek (SW84), Greenscoombe Wood (SX37) and Tamp' s Wood, near Millook (SX19).

Habitat & Ecology

Very small numbers have been found in deciduous woodland. At one site it was found in deep shade in a Beech Fagus sylvatica wood.

All three sites are protected.
