Range & Status

Recorded from south-west Wales, south-west Ireland, south Devon and Cornwall. Appears to be restricted in Cornwall to the Fal and Helford estuary complex (Tompsett, 1997 and 2003), and Barn Pool, Mount Edgcumbe at the mouth of the Tamar estuary, and the outer Plymouth Sound. A benthic species, in the low eulittoral and sublittoral; a large fan-worm up to 200mm long living in a gelatinous tube in firm muds in sheltered waters.
