Range & Status
Recorded in Britain especially from the south, but also in north England and the Scottish Highlands (Emmet, 1991). Listed by Ball (1986) as pRDB3, but now known to be too widespread to qualify as a RDB species (A.M. Emmet, pers. comm.).
In Cornwall recorded in Chyverton Woods (1984) and near St. Austell (between 1982-1989).
Habitat & Ecology
The moth is not restricted to any particular habitat, but may occur where the foodplant grows. The known foodplant in Britain is Broad-leaved Willowherb Epilobium montanum (Heckford 1986b; Sterling, 1988); other Epilobium species may be used.
