Range & Status
Native. Submediterranean-Subatlantic plant. As a native mainly found along the southern coast of England as far north as East Anglia, the Bristol Channel, and the Channel Islands. Also recorded as an introduction in much of England.
It occurs in five inhabited islands on the Isles of Scilly and also in a few places around the coast of Cornwall, from Padstow (SW97) to near Calstock (SX46).
Habitat & Ecology
Toothed Medick is found in dry, open habitats within coastal grassland, in old quarries, on waste-ground and occasionally as an agricultural weed. In the Isles of Scilly mainly in arable fields, disturbed ground and wall-tops.
Changes in farmland management.
Most of the sites are unprotected.
