Range & Status
In Britain mainly south and south-eastern England, with records from north Wales.
Recorded reliably in Cornwall only from Predannack by Paul Gainey, but widely recorded on the Isles of Scilly. This species is very difficult to separate from Lasius alienus , from which it has only recently been separated, and from which it can only be distinguished by microscopic examination, preferably checking a series of specimens.
Habitat & Ecology
Occurs on dry heaths, also possibly sandy areas.
No known threats.
