Idaea degeneraria

Range & Status

Found across southern and central Europe. In Britain, resident at Portland, Dorset, but previously known from Devon (McCormick, 2001). Records from other parts of the southwest, including Bodinnick (September 1962) and St. Agnes, Scilly (August 1996) were thought to be migrants because of their late dates.

Regional Distribution

Scattered records from 2005 to 2008 came from south-east Cornwall and from the Lizard Peninsula. Records in spring from Torpoint in 2005 and 2007 and Downderry in 2006 suggest local breeding, rather than migration.
