Range & Status
Known from less than 10 sites across England and Wales in recent years.
Discovered by Ian McClenaghan in Cabilla and Redrice Woods in 2007.
Habitat & Ecology
Develops in humid red-rotten heartwood of old broadleaved trees, especially opengrown trees. A classic old growth species confined to ancient wood pastures
and historic parklands.
Loss of old trees, through canopy competition in ungrazed woodland, as well as felling.
Cabilla Wood is a CWT Reserve.
