Range & Status

Most records are from southern England and the Channel Islands (Jersey), where it is found on soil in deciduous woodland, mostly associated with Oak Quercus spp. There are two older (1969) records for VC1 and two more recent records, 1997 and 2000 for VC2, one of which is from Ethy Wood (Lerryn). This fungus is on the UK BAP List of Priority Species as a Group Plan species (Toothed Fungi).
