Range & Status

Weakly parasitic or saprotrophic, on fallen decayed wood of deciduous trees usually Beech Fagus sylvatica but occasionally other species. Most frequently recorded in southern and south-western England. Three records in Cornwall since 1974: Truthan Woods, St. Allen (1974), Tidna Valley near Morwenstow (2000) and Leball Wood near Bodmin (2006), all on Beech.
