Range & Status

Archaeophyte. European Southern-temperate species. Mainly found in the chalk areas of south-east England and along the coast of the extreme north-east England and south-east Scotland.

Regional Distribution

Seen in an arable field near the coast at Porthcothan (SW87), in 2003, where it is probably a casual. There are three historic records.

Habitat & Ecology

The 2003 record was from an arable field growing malting barley, which may have been sourced from south-east England.
