Fulgensia fulgens

Range & Status

A species that prefers a well-lit, freely draining consolidated basic substrate. It is locally frequent adjacent to sand dunes along the north Cornish coastline (e.g. Perranporth and Rock) where it seems to be associated with the moss Trichostomium crispulum . Elsewhere it is known from north Devon, Breckland, (extinct) the Isle of Wight, south Wales and the Channel Islands. An estimated 50 \endash 60% of the British population occurs on the dunes at Perranporth.
