Range & Status

Recorded from Isles of Scilly, Plymouth, south and west coasts of England, Shetland, west coasts of Scotland and Ireland (Pleijel & Dales, 1991). Common in sublittoral coarse sediments in the southern Irish Sea and outer Bristol Channel (Mackie et al ., 1995; Mackie et al ., 2006). A benthic species; it occurs in the sublittoral from 15-80m depth; a small worm approximately 20mm long found on solid rocky substrates, shell gravel or sand, probably under-recorded.
