Range & Status
Widely scattered throughout the British Isles but apparently absent from the Cornish mainland.
At present known only on St. Mary' s in the Isles of Scilly (Jones & Pratley, 1987).
Habitat & Ecology
The St. Mary' s site is a coastal rubbish tip, but elsewhere this species can be found at coastal cliffs and a number of ruderal habitats such as old quarries, walls and derelict land.
The Isles of Scilly are designated for nature conservation. A thorough survey of suitable Cornish habitats is needed to establish a true picture of the mainland status of this species.
