Range & Status

A parasitoid on wood-nesting species of Osmia spp. of bee. Found in a variety of open, sunny habitats, usually seen around old wooden posts, stumps and dead trees where its host nests. It occurs from Cornwall to Kent and north to Yorkshire, a widespread species which is rarely found. Only one recent, post-1980, record from the extreme south-east of Cornwall, also several older records.
