Range & Status

Archaeophyte; Native in the central and southern European mountains. Found throughout England (except along the south coast), Cornwall, Wales, eastern Scotland and rare in Ireland.

Regional Distribution

Recorded from 29 1km squares in total. A very rare casual which has only recently been seen at one location in East Cornwall (SX06) and one in West Cornwall (SW71). Not recorded in Scilly since 1960.

Habitat & Ecology

A perennial herb of ruderal habitats.

Both recent sites are not protected.
