Range & Status
Archaeophyte. European Temperate species. Widely scattered throughout lowland
Britain but status confused due to loss of native populations and massive increase of introductions.
Only one recent site in cereal fields near Mylor Bridge (SW83), where it is considered to be native and a dozen where it has been introduced in seed-mixes.
Habitat & Ecology
Cereal fields, waste places and some re-seeded pasture fields.
Probably unlikely to survive as a native.
