Archaeophyte. European Temperate species. Widely scattered throughout lowland

Britain but status confused due to loss of native populations and massive increase of introductions.

Regional Distribution

Only one recent site in cereal fields near Mylor Bridge (SW83), where it is considered to be native and a dozen where it has been introduced in seed-mixes.

Habitat & Ecology

Cereal fields, waste places and some re-seeded pasture fields.

Threats

Probably unlikely to survive as a native.
