Range & Status
Very localised in Britain.
Discovered in Lanhydrock Park in 2003 and at Port Eliot Park in 2006.
Habitat & Ecology
Larvae feed on scolytid beetle larvae developing in freshly dead branches of old opengrown broadleaved trees. An old growth species largely confined to historic parklands.
Removal of large items of fallen deadwood; loss of older age classes of trees; failure to establish new generations of open-grown trees.
Lanhydrock Park is owned by The National Trust.
