Range & Status
Widely distributed in southern England, particularly in the south-east. The majority of records are from private gardens, where it visits the flowers of various labiates. Work for the Provisional Atlas' suggests that this species may be somewhat more common than previously suggested and that its status should be reviewed. Whereas there are numerous older records for Cornwall there are only three recent records: Mousehole (2006), Porthtowan (2004) and Crackington Haven (1991).
