Range & Status

Native. European Temperate orchid. Largely restricted to southern Britain and Ireland. It has suffered a considerable decline.

Regional Distribution

Restricted to The Lizard, mostly on the western coast (SW61), and Rosemullion Head (SW72).

Habitat & Ecology

Cliff-top, sedge-rich turf and herb-rich grassland.

Threats

The population is fairly stable with no apparent threats.

Conservation

The extant sites are all protected; Rosemullion Head is managed by the National Trust and The Lizard sites are managed by Natural England and the National Trust.
