Range & Status

Acari: Eriophyoidea; locally common in Britain.

Regional Distribution

Two records from two 10km squares: SV80 from The Gugh on the Isles of Scilly in 1974 and VC2: SW96 in 1987.

Habitat & Ecology

Associated species: Germander Speedwell Veronica chamaedrys . The gall is hairy and very variable in size, appearing in June and maturing in mid-autumn. The leaf margins of the host plant are twisted or slightly rolled but do not approach at their margins to form a pouch.
